YES WE CAN . . .

. . . as I see it.

Can we rack up a deficit larger than the previous 43 presidents . . . combined?

YES WE CAN!

Can we borrow our way out of debt?

YES WE CAN!

Can we tax our way out of a recession?

YES WE CAN!

Can we legislate without understanding the laws we’re making?

YES WE CAN!

Can we spend billions on bail-outs, but not know where the money went?

YES WE CAN!

Can we blame everything on someone else?

YES WE CAN!

Can we speak without a teleprompter?

Ummm . . . err . . . well . . . ahhh . . .

Bush.

Bush's legacy

Can we tax our way out of a recession?
Bush's legacy

That is so definitely Bush!

Can we spend billions on bail-outs, but not know where the money went?
Bush! He introduced the concept.

Can we blame everything on someone else?
Well, only if it really was someone else's fault. Bush.

Can we speak without a teleprompter?
Do I need to give you the links to Bush on YouTube to Bush's speeches when he *had* a teleprompter?

I think you're being a little unfair Bulldog. If you gave Bush eight years to create a situation you have to give someone else a similar amount of time to fix it.

Brennig,

You would sooooo fit in Obama's cabinet, or on Harry Reid's staff. I know that you're a pure-D socialist, but I don't hold it against you - unless you move here and are elected to congress. :o)

I don't disagree that Bush was the most unarticulate president that I've heard speak, and I've heard them all from Truman to Obama. He normally couldn't put a dozen related words together.

What I really hate is that Bush almost personally brought down the Republican party with dumb-ass decisions and bad advice - primarily on Iraq. However, some of your othr claims are simply not correct.

Obama's budget proposed deficits, as projected by the non-partisan Congressional Budget Office dwarf Bush's. They make his look like lunch money.

You can try to blame the current black hole on Bush, but the true fact is that the Democratic Congress, primarily Barney Frank and Chris Dodd were the prime movers in encouraging loans with no money down to people who couldn't afford to them.

The real root cause is that the socialism you so continually and enthusiastically advocate put us here, and it won't dig us out.

As for giving him a chance, if the ship is heading for an iceberg, do I want to wait to see if the captain is competent (or even awake), or should I pull the chain on the alarm? I prefer the latter. When Barry O sinks the US, he will sink you too.

Obama needs to hear the same speech that Daniel Hannan aimed at Gordon Brown.

By the way, the UK has pretty much the same programs that Barry O wants to insall here. How's that working out for you?

Perhaps that's all Bush's fault too.

No animosity intended. We are just at polar ends of the political spectrum.

By the way, I'm still intending to read your book. It's sitting on the shelf above me now - but I'm currently tied up with Stephanie Meyers. Vampires are more interesting to me than horses at the moment. :o)

Amen, brother, amen!

you know how I feel about this new administration.

Actually, still haven't watched the news in months - you brave souls must suffer that brunt for the likes of me who are too faint of heart to admit what happened in November.

And hey, in case you're interested, I posted a video today on my blog of me singing and playing a new song from a show I was in Wednesday.

Like your new profile pic too, very handsome.

Easy there tiger! We don't have a socialist government; haven't had one for thirty years or more. The New Labour Blairites (now Brownites) are nothing more than Thatcher's Children dressed in Emperor's New Clothes. :-)

And wasn't it Bush who inflicted TARP on you so he could prime his best friends on Wall Street with a bottomless pocket?

The thing is, if you take away the ultimate failure of capitalism - bankruptcy - what do you have left?

However...

What the voting sheep have elected themselves in this country would (and does) make a sane man weep. It is impossible to make growth out of nothing. Without a range of manufacturing industries any economy is doomed to rise and fall with off the coat-tails of global markets. And that is what Thatcher gave us. But no-one has woken up to the folly of having a country that produces nothing. How sad.

Brennig,

Your sheep and our sheep are members of the same flock, and the weeping is on the rise.
