Gary Sinese . . .

. . . and the Lt. Dan Band

I like these guys. Sinese has been doing this for years, and he raises the money for paying and transporting the band. They're good journeyman musicians, but more importantly, they provide very welcome and much needed entertainment to our troops all over the world.

News flash: they're putting on a free concert just a couple of blocks from our quarters on 10 JUL.

Apart from Rainman (and most Monty Python stuff) Forrest Gump has got to be the ultimate quotable film.

"Lieutenant Dan got me invested in some kind of fruit company. So then I got a call from him, saying we don't have to worry about money no more. And I said, that's good! One less thing."

If you go I bet you hear someone shout out "Lieutenant Dan" or "run Forrest" at just the wrong moment. :-)

Trivia:

In Forrest Gump, Sinese is Dan Taylor.

In CSI New York, he is Mac Taylor.

As long as they DON'T say: "Life is like a box of chocolates."
