They say nostalgia . . .

. . . isn't what it used to be.

I disagree. How can one forget the wonder and excitement on the face of a tiny blogger at something so simple as a little doll?

Or, that there are things that we used to be able to do that we would have a hard time doing today?

Or, that those people who were supposed to be around forever . . . are not?

The cute face of the litte girl holding the doll looks somehow familiar! ;o)

Nice post....is that you doing the Kung Fu malarky? Ok, technically I probably have the wrong 'genre' of martial art there but hey... ;o)

Jane,

The little cutie 'tis familiar indeed. The original "Bug on me" girl.

The middle photo was taken early in my martial arts life. I spent more than 25 years as a Tae Kwon Do instructor and competitor. The photo is at least a fortnight or two old. :o}

Spidergirl (to give her the proper job title) looks *very* happy to get that doll! Lol.

Nice punching action there! I stopped doing all of my competitive martial arts when it was a choice between broken fingers/toes (I did full-contact Ju Jitsu for seven years amongst other things) and being able to type enough to write the computer programs my boss ridiculously insisted I wrote - what with it being the thing he paid me to do.

Ian,

I did the Korean version of Ju Jitsu (Hap Ki Do) for 10 years or so, and full-contact TKD tournaments for five.

Not too much damage, other than a removed ACL, a repaired MCL, a squeaky rotator cuff, and a semi-crushed knuckle on my right hand. Oh, and shins with so many scars they look like a roadmap.

My career in martial arts was limited to being the "mat girl" everyone jumped over during Ju Jit Su. :) AND timing tournaments.

That doll was quite cool. She had a rocking crib and everything.

Spidergirl
